Bungie’s latest blog post reveals the lengthy list of tweaks, buffs, and changes coming to many Destiny 2 exotic armor pieces once The Final Shape expansion arrives in June. It’s been another big week of information for Destiny 2 fans, as Bungie continues to get the player base ready for The Final Shape. Representing the end of the Light and Dark Saga, which has spanned across both games in the franchise, fans are hoping this expansion can deliver on the many promises and payoff of a storyline ten years in the making.
Destiny 2 The Final Shape Exotic Armor Nerfs and Buffs
In addition to itemizing all the individual exotic changes, Bungie also confirmed that it would be adjusting how “Powered Melee” effects are triggered through spending a melee charge, with these changes starting with the Hunter’s Assassins Cowl and Titan’s Severance Enclosure. Players will also be able to upgrade fully master worked armor, using an Exotic Cipher and spending 10,000 Glimmer to add an Artifice mod slot. In addition, Ammo Finder mods will no longer reset through death and Bungie is also planning to remove all mod energy costs from raid-specific armor mods.
Hunter Exotic Armor Changes Summary
- Triton Vice – Glaives no longer need to match the player’s current subclass, which means projectile final blows will always trigger a detonation matching the Glaive’s damage type. In addition, the Surrounded effect lasts 5 seconds longer after no longer being surrounded.
- Dragon’s Shadow – Effects trigger when the player uses Ensnaring Slam or the new Ascension Arc aspect.
- Foetracer – The Bonus damage effect is granted to weapons, with the damage type matching the weapon’s element rather than the player’s subclass.
- The Sixth Coyote – Now has an additional benefit of creating Orbs of Power from final blows after using a class ability.
- Renewal Grasps – Grants the Frost Armor Stasis effect for allies when entering the player’s Duskfield Grenade. The effect duration resets and gains an additional stack every 0.9 seconds.
- Star-Eater Scales – Now requires 6 Orbs of Power to grant maximum benefits. Reduced Super energy gained per Orb of Power with Golden Gun equipped from 2% to 0.5%.
Warlock Exotic Armor Changes Summary
- Mantle of Battle Harmony – Depending on the enemy killed, grants Super energy between 1.5% and 4.5%. The two-second cooldown perk activation requirement has also been removed.
- Ballidose Wrathweavers – Stasis Shard Overshield effect has been replaced by Frost Armor Stasis, granting max stacks when Frostpulse is equipped. Activating Winter’s Wrath shatter attack grants nearby allies maximum stacks of Frost armor, and then to the player once the super ends.
- Secant Filaments – In addition to its current effects, entering an Empowering Rift will reset the players Devour duration back to 11 seconds.
- Verity’s Brow – Now requires final blows with a weapon matching your grenade’s damage type
- Sunbracers – Considering how strong Sunbracers are in Destiny 2 currently, Bungie reduced the increased Solar Grenade duration to 2 seconds and lowered the increased recharge rate to only allow a maximum of 4.
- Cenotaph Mask – Can no longer trigger the exotic effect when multiple Warlocks are using Cenotaph against a single target. The Target Lock visual marker now only appears to allies and not the player.
Titan Exotic Armor Changes Summary
- Ursa Furiosa – Player movement speed has been increased when guarding, while also granting Super energy based on the amount of incoming damage absorbed.
- Eternal Warrior – No longer requires an Arc subclass to grant the arc weapon damage bonus.
- Armamentarium – Now features an additional benefit of a second grenade charge that can generate Orbs of Power from grenade final blows.
- Khepri’s Horn – Solar blast damage increased by 100% in PvE, applies Scorch effect for every hit, and gains further bonuses from Ember of Eruption and Ember of Ashes.
- Heart of Inmost Light – UI has been consolidated on the HUD into a single status effect icon. The functionality of the armor hasn’t changed.
- Synthoceps – Reduced Bionic Enhancements duration to 5 seconds after no longer being surrounded.
- Servance Enclosure – Explosions require line of sight to damage enemies, knockback intensity has been reduced, and the launch angle has been tweaked to be more vertical.
